| Product Summary | Instant TAE Buffer simplifies preparation of Tris-acetate-EDTA (TAE) buffer with easy to dissolve powder granules to prepare a 1 Liter, 1X working solution. It does not require additional calculations or pH adjustments to help reduce errors and maintain consistent buffer preparation.
The 1X solution is 40 mM Tris-acetate and 1 mM EDTA-2Na (pH 7.0±0.2 at 25°C). TAE is a commonly used buffer for agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA. TAE buffer is generally recommended for electrophoretic separation of fragments larger than 13 kb. The mobility of double-stranded DNA is faster when using TAE buffer, but the limited buffering capacity is not compatible with long-term (e.g., overnight) electrophoresis. |
