| Function | Tumor Necrosis Factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) was initially associated as a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by macrophages. However, TNF-alpha also regulates apoptosis, tumor cell death, lipid metabolism and cell differentiation of T cells, B cells and NK cells.
